Konstantinos CHALKIAS

Konstantinos S. Chalkias, born in Athens in 1968, was accredited with the Specialty of Internal Medicine in 2002, Since 2003, he has been serving as Scientific Responsible and Head of the Department of Internal Medicine of Athinaiki Private Clinic. Between 2008 and 2015 he has also served as a Director of an Internal Medicine Department in EUROCLINIC of ATHENS Private Clinic. Since 2003 he has also been working as a freelancer of Family Practice. He has participated as an invited speaker in various medical conferences and seminars, while some of his articles have been hosted in medical editions, in various magazines and in newspapers.
In parallel to his clinical activities as a medical practitioner, he exerts a special interest and has acquired valuable expertise in the fields of Medical Classifications and Health Economics.

He has initially served as a medical expert in the Greek Health Reform Support Project in 2015. Since then, he has been participating in the Scientific and Management support of the Greek DRG Institute (ever since it was founded in 2014), currently serving as an executive member of its Management Board, and he has carried out numerous consultation and educational activities within either national or international projects, in the fields of Medical Classifications, Health Units Quality Procedures Development and Quality Control, Medical Auditing and Arbitrage, and DRG System development.
