Global Access Strategy Lead for Rare Diseases, Neuroscience & Gene Therapies Roche

Umang is currently leading the Roche Global Access Strategy for Rare Diseases with a particular focus on gene therapies for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Passionate about working towards bringing therapies to patients and societies faster, he pursued a career that would allow him to weave together both science and business as related to healthcare.

He joined Roche in Canada in 2009 and worked in various roles across the development of innovative medicines as well as pursuing market access within the Canadian healthcare system. Currently based in Basel, he has been working closely with experts across the globe to understand the various challenges across epidemiology, policy, evidence and affordability in support of bringing gene therapies to those who need them.
