John KARAFILIDIS

John Karafilidis is a clinical pharmacist and experienced biotech and pharma leader, with almost 30 years in the industry.  He has an extensive background in building and leading global medical affairs organizations in various start up and established biotech/pharma organizations, supporting various therapeutic areas (including rare diseases).

John has experience in supporting the commercialization and launch for 18 products throughout his career (in various markets including in the EU), that includes ATMP therapies (such as Upstaza, which is brain administered gene therapy for aromatic L-amino acid decarboxylase (AADC) deficiency and Rethymic, which is a tissue- based therapy for congenital athymia).  John is currently the Vice President, Global Medical Affairs at PTC Therapeutics and resides outside of Boston, MA (USA).
