Dimitris Papageorgiou is the Business Unit Head of Rare Diseases for Takeda Hellas, Cyprus and Malta, a 242 years old Japanese Pharmaceutical Company focusing in Rare Diseases, Oncology and Gastroenterology.

He has a 24 years’ experience in the pharma sector, always in multinational companies like Ipsen, Janssen, Nycomed & now Takeda for the past 18 years.

In the recent past, he has held various senior leadership roles like Country Head of Takeda Hungary, Commercial Head of Greece & Commercial Operations & Customer Excellence Head for South East Europe MCO.

Before joining the pharma sector Dimitris was the Physical Therapist of the Greek National basketball team and he has managed together with the team, to win two bronze European medals.

Dimitris enjoys an active life together with his family and friends, either in the mountain for winter ski, or in the sea for sailing and visiting the numerous Greek islands. He also enjoys photography, movies and the new love is playing PADEL.
