Head of Advanced Therapies and Haematological diseases, Human Medicines Division, European Medicines Agency (EMA)

Caroline Pothet is head of the office for advanced therapies and haematological diseases at the European Medicines Agency; She is also a member of the Regulatory Science Committee at IRDiRC (the International Rare Diseases Research Consortium).

Before this, Caroline was a Senior Regulatory Specialist at the Agency, providing regulatory and scientific advice to EMA staff, Scientific Committees (including the Committee on Advanced Therapies) and external stakeholders during the development, evaluation and surveillance of oncology medicinal products and Advanced Therapies.

Prior to join the Agency in 2020, Caroline worked in the Pharmaceutical Industry for 20 years holding various positions in Regulatory Policy, Regulatory Affairs and Global R&D between 1998 and 2020, including 10 years in oncology (both solid tumours and haematological malignancies) and 7 years in immuno-inflammation drug development. Caroline is a pharmacist by training.
