Mrs. Eleni Antoniou holds a Bachelor of Arts (Ptychion) in Classical Studies from the University of Cyprus and a Master’s degree in Intercultural Communication from the Institute for Translators, Interpreters and International Relations of the University of Strasbourg. Mrs. Antoniou joined the team of the Thalassaemia International Federation in 2017 as a Policy Officer, with a focus on European and International Relations and a special interest in Social Health Protection and Access to Novel Therapies and Medicines. A member of the Global Advocacy Committee of Rare Diseases International and the Social Policy Advisory Group of EURORDIS, Mrs. Antoniou works to safeguard the rights of PWRD, including people with thalassaemia and haemoglobinopathies, in all countries of the world. Before joining TIF, she had worked as a Grant Writer and Project Manager and completed traineeships at the Council of Europe, Strasbourg and the European Committee of the Regions, Brussels. Mrs. Antoniou is a Sworn Translator of the Republic of Cyprus for Greek, English and French.
